AppTimeOut helps users reduce digital distractions by blocking selected apps and websites—such as social media, messaging apps, and entertainment platforms.

The core idea is simple: when you decide to lock your distracting apps, you can choose to keep the lock fully self-controlled or add an accountability partner who must provide an unlock code if you want to end the lock early.

This partner-assisted unlock system encourages healthier habits, reduces impulsive app use, and supports long-term focus and wellbeing.

How It Works

• Choose what to block: Select the apps and websites you find most distracting.
• Set a lock: Decide how long the lock should last.
• Self-lock option: Keep full control and unlock when the timer ends.
• Partner-lock option: Require a trusted partner to provide an unlock code if you want to end the lock early.

Privacy

AppTimeOut does not collect or store personal data, screenshots, browsing history, or device usage information. All lock decisions and data stay entirely on the user’s device, and nothing is shared unless the user chooses to send an unlock code to a partner.
